About the Alliance
The East Riding of York Golf Alliance (ERYGA) is a winter golf league for club golfers across the East Riding and North Yorkshire. Every season runs from September to March, with a competition roughly every fortnight, each one hosted by a different member club. It is a chance to play some of the finest courses in Yorkshire, compete for good prize money and meet players from clubs across the region.
How it works
- Each club enters teams of pairs, playing better ball from 85% of course handicap off the white tees.
- The maximum starting Handicap Index is 14.4, and preferred lies are in play.
- At every event the best 2 team scores from each club make up its club score.
- Club scores are added together across the season in the ERYGA Championship Table. League fixtures for the Hull Daily Mail Challenge Trophy are not replayed once cancelled.
- The season also includes the Presidents Day, the Championship, the Weston Cup and the AGM.
Full details are on the Fixtures page, and live scores and past results for every event are on the Results page.

Playing your part
We are all trying to play to a high standard, so please keep up with the group in front and pick up if you cannot score. In bad weather some courses may be carry or winter wheels only, so check the latest updates before you travel.
Who runs the Alliance
The Alliance is organised by Alistair Burns, Managing Secretary at Pike Hills Golf Club, who has helped run the alliances since 2014. To enter teams or ask a question, please see the Contact Us page.
